Guelph Woman Entrepreneur Receives Federal Investment To Grow Business

GUELPH, ONTARIO |  MP Lloyd Longfield is pleased to announce an up to $100,000 investment in a Guelph-based business through the Government of Canada’s Women Entrepreneurship Strategy, a $2-billion investment that seeks to double the number of women-owned businesses by 2025.

The Women’s Entrepreneurship Strategy supports full and equal participation of women entrepreneurs in Canadian business to boost economic competitiveness

SpeakFeel Corporation, led by Kelly Lee Brooks, is receiving funding through the program, the first of its kind dedicated to advancing women’s economic empowerment.

MP Lloyd Longfield says, “the women entrepreneurs and business leaders of Guelph make incredible contributions to our economy and community every day. I’m proud to be a part of a Government that takes women’s economic empowerment seriously. From tackling pay equity to modernizing parental leave, this government is taking action on gender equality because when women succeed, we all succeed.”

SpeakFeel Corporation, a software development company, will use the non-repayable funds to
grow their businesses and facilitate opportunities in markets abroad.

Kelly Brooks, SpeakFeel’s president and founder, says “we are honoured to accept funding that recognizes the valuable contributions women entrepreneurs continue to make in the Canadian economy. The funding will help complete our Quarter4 Artificial Intelligence platform that engages sports enthusiasts to predict team and player performance outcomes through data.”
